PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
Barack H. Obama is the 44th President of the United States
what fish ???? How can a 9 months old president do reforms in such a order that he is bestowed with a Nobel Peace award...???? It raised my eyebrows when I heard of this news . Is our world going to an end where in only POWER is the only factor . What peace has Mr.Obama fecilitaed for the world .....and even if he has done something that huge why it is so disguise that the whole world (I mean the Mango People)can't even relate to it.....
A president who is yet to score on a good foreign treaty ...I believe awards are coined with some one only when he /she has done some thing remarkable but again the past 9 months in white house......had stories revolving around Obama and his wife.....there courtship,marriage, the breakup and the patchup......or the other story I believe every one will be able to relate with is that of the new member in the Obama family (Dog)......offfff.......please news prints are so costly when it comes down to buying space in then and that revenue was eaten up by the dog story for a long time ,I believe more then 15-20 days......all papers be it national or regionals.....So ,for me Obama ,has been more of a socialite then a reformer...it a too prematured statement from my side as well,I am not doubting his caliber to be a common man's voice but a Nobel prize in less then 9 months of his tenure is not acceptable by me ......he is yet to prove his worth even as a president of a state .......Nobel prize is a far away destination.
Hopes are not the deciding grounds for giving a Nobel prize to a person ......its the actual ground work that speaks for you ......The Nobel peace prize commitee said that the deadline for the nominations are 8 months in advance of the awards...thats proves that when Obama was swearing in to be the only black president of America ......this committee was busy shortlisting his name for the Nobel peace award......what a fussss !!!!!! I just don't understand why did people like Amartya Sen, Mother Teresa and many more did so much to be considered for this award......
Obama has actually proved how words can be so powerful as to bring in a change so rapidly in the perseption of the people around. promise beautifully made raises hopes especially high: we will revive the economy while we rein in our spending; we will make health care simpler, safer, cheaper, fairer. We will rid the earth of its most lethal weapons. We will turn green and clean.OHH wow ......He is the 4th American president to win a Nobel award......

I relate to you in every respect Manisha...and the fact of 8 months down time was not known by me...it is moving that a person who was unknown till then..suddenly was nominated for Nobel Peace Prize as soon as he swears in as President...can he be compared to Mother Teresa in any repect...we treat Mother as God...can Obama stand on the same platform?

The worlds most powerful man has once again achieved it.....after using his influence and concern about his nations interest president Obama uttered some words and the peace prize committe heard it. Thus ignoring the long dedicated works of the main nominees like Hu Jia, the chinese dissident, taking the risk of his life for Chinese democracy movements ,HIV/AIDS in China , environmental concerns or Dr Sima Samar of Afghanistan who defying all islamic limitations is working for the human rights in that country . A barter deal has been done by giving a special weightage to Obama's personality to use the military power with a peaceful tag. Its not the prize for the work done in the past but an investment done for the future.

whenever we (I) think of u know peace .. SHANTI.. EKTA and all that words ; the only person comes to my mind is the our father of Nation Ghandhi G but .. he never got nobel prize or had been talked of giving nobel prizes but all his Prominent followers in the recent past have been Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suu Kyi and the Dalai Lama. and now on the same acknowledgement Obama...
In my view there are two type of people who can talk of peace one who is coward & who is powerfull ; like our PM & Obama.
There is a hindi film by title "Money Hai toh Honey Hai.." Meaning that if u have money then you have honey that is POWER and INFLUENCE. So there is no surprise if Obama gets the Nobel Prize.Surprise would be then if he would have not got it.

Questions raised by u in this article are very correct. I too was very surprised when I got this news that Obama has got Nobel peace prize. There were people who did great but didn't get the noble prize. So its not the first time.
According to me power rules everywhere so it does here too. Anyway I really appreciate your effort.
We discussed this in past, are discussing at present n I promise will discuss in future when a non deserving person specially The president of America will get the next or next to next noble prize.

The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday to President Barack Obama, the third prominent U.S. Democrat to win recently, only seemed to reinforce an impression the prize can be as much about politics as about peace..........A president who is just 9 months old , before he had time to persue peace policy.........., gets a nobel price for "PEACE"..........let's hope that the peace prize shud be give for "PEACE" only.......next time.........

As being a rational human being, I always inter-relate things. A noble prize to OBAMA does nothing gud. But consequences could have been better interpreted, had the prize given to some person who really does some work at grass-root level.
for example, let's talk about the crimes in India which happen at an exorbitant rate here, because here lies the poverty, population, un-employement, power-games(same as in US), & blah-2.All things are inter-related here..
The worst possible consequense could be that now OBAMA get a license of fraud peace, de-arm every nation and increase the power of US.

If Bush was the President, the hunt for Laden would have continued with more bloodshed.. Since it is Obama, things are a LITTLE different. Nobel Prize committee can analyze and review much better than anyone. They have their own standards and metrics before they give away the award to someone.. If Obama's actions are not published well, it does not mean that he is not fit for it. I oppose your opinion but admire your presentation
